I loved Naked Juices. As it happened, I basically had a 15.2 fl oz Blue Machine or Red Machine a day. This was until I realized that from my 7:30 am breakfast until 12:30 pm my lunch was filling up with the ‘health water’ which I thought wasn’t really healthy. I decided to do some research and answer my own question: Is Naked Juice healthy?

So What’s Actually In These?

I would never call myself an enemy of health. As a matter of fact, I’m usually the type to eat whatever is in my mood. I like to call it the ‘food diet’. I see food and eat the food. It’s that simple. But when drinking Naked Juices I would often read the side of the container showing the different fruits in each bottle and how much each fruit was.

All I saw at a time were these astronomical numbers for how many full fruits are in each bottle. For example, the Power-C Machine has 1 and 1/2 full guava. Crazy. After looking at these ingredient lists for a few months, I decided to do some more research to find out what else was in these juices and how this company was making money given how much fresh fruit costs and the high volume they use.

My research has taught me a lot, but mostly I’ve learned that I should stop drinking Naked Juice, or at least stop drinking 15+ fluid ounces a day. Metabolically, Naked Juice contains the same number of grams of sugar as a can of Mountain Dew soda (61 grams to be exact). Although the sugar found in Naked is natural fructose (as opposed to soda’s high fructose corn syrup), it’s still too much.

When consuming such high doses of sugar, it doesn’t matter to your body where the sugar comes from. Sugar is sugar, plain and simple. Both types of sugar are converted to glucose in your liver. The fatty acids are then metabolized into their triglycerides or the harmful form of cholesterol. For this reason, it is recommended that people keep their entire sugar intake to a minimum.

But Not That Much Sugar, Is It?

Wrong. Naked’s no added sugar Strawberry Banana flavor still has 46 grams of sugar. It’s an insane amount of sugar, even though it’s all-natural.

Because Naked Juices don’t add sugar, they’re a little healthier for you, as a Mountain Dew soda, but they don’t contain significant amounts of fiber. The fibre found in pure fruit forms is indigestible, so it makes you feel fuller for longer and keeps your blood sugar levels in check.

Green Naked Juice

When you juice a fruit, it loses all the fiber in it. This makes it incredibly difficult for your body to digest the sugars in the juice. Your body can handle the amount of sugar in a piece of raw fruit because it contains fiber. But drinking a product like Naked Juice is just too much sugar for your body to handle in one sitting, especially if you’re drinking it these days.

I Can Still Deal With This

Naked Juices are also high in calories. Bottles have 300+ calories. That’s an insane amount of calories for one drink. While they are truly filling, most people drink Naked Juices with their breakfast. You would think you were very healthy and had a juice drink, but you are really putting an insane amount of extra calories into your body and none of it is helping your ‘diet’ or health kick.

Now for the main event… The Naked Juice case. So long story short, Naked Juices were marketed as something they weren’t. Between 2007 and 2013, the bottles said the contents were ‘all natural’. I use the term VERY loosely (and so do the makers of Naked Juice, apparently). I mean, it later became clear that not everything in the bottle was natural, so it wasn’t. completely natural.

It seems that only fruits and vegetables were natural. However, the vitamin supplements added to some drinks were far from natural. This is not only incredibly misleading but also false advertising.

Also, there are many questions as to whether he can advertise Naked Juices. Non- GMO products, meaning there are no genetic changes in the ingredients used in the juices.

The Naked Juice company seems to be having trouble understanding exactly what it means to use non-genetically modified ingredients, so they hired a third-party expert to verify that their juices can be marketed non-branded. GMO. The lawsuit was settled by Naked’s parent company PepsiCo for $9 million.

So yes. Naked Juices certainly aren’t the only thing they’re hyped for. Frankly, they’re pretty unhealthy, and even though they’ve already made a big case, I feel like I don’t quite know what to put into my body when I drink one of the drinks, which is a little scary so ask me. If you’re really in the mood for a juice detox, however, I would recommend using one of these. These are ways to detox your body because Naked Juices will definitely not work.

The bottles are all 16 oz., but the cans come in 12 or 14.5 oz.

While Naked Juice is much healthier than other snacks out there, some argue that it isn’t as healthy as it could be. Many argue that juice is full of sugars and fruit juices aren’t good for you. Many others argue that Naked Juice is still healthier than most other snacks out there. It doesn’t have any artificial sweeteners or chemicals, and it has many vitamins that your body needs to stay healthy.

Unfortunately, many of the juices do contain more sugar than some would like. A full serving has around 20 grams of sugar per bottle which may be too much for some. There are lower-sugar options, but they can’t be found in stores. To get the lower sugar options, you have to order them direct from Naked Juice.

As one would expect, Naked Juice is not as healthy as vegetables or fruit themselves. However, that isn’t what Naked Juice is trying to do. They are trying to make juice that tastes great and is still healthy. They accomplish this with many vitamins, antioxidants, and other nutrients.

So, is Naked Juice healthy? It certainly has less sugar than most snacks out there, but it isn't as healthy as actual fruit or vegetables. However, if you are looking for a snack that contains some good vitamins and nutrients while still tasting good, Naked Juice is for you.
