Easy making process of grape juice from red grapes (Directions)
Step 1:
Firstly, wash the grapes with sparkling water and drain well. Then remove the grapes from their stems.
You can also put all the grapes in a sieve and rinse off them in warm water, helping you eliminate the pesticides used to grow them.
Step 2:
Now that the grapes are washed. Add all the grapes, water, a pinch of salt, lemon juice, and sugar (if you wish) to the blender.
Some other ingredients that go well with grapes are basil leaf, mint leaves, etc. Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. I typically run 2 cycles of this to ensure there are no clumps at all.
Step 3:
Though some bits of skin and pulp will be out there in the juice, you can surely drink the juice like this. But my kids prefer to consume it strained.
If you want to strain the juice, use a clean strainer and put the strainer over a container or directly to a drinking glass. Then pour the juice mixture gently through the strainer to remove the pulp.
Step 4:
Remove the strainer or cheesecloth and refrigerate the juice immediately so it can cool.
Step 5:
Your juice is ready to drink. Just pour the juice over some ice cubes in a drinking glass and serve it chilled before it starts to oxidize.
How to make grape juice from red grapes? The Alternative Method:
Simply rinse off your grapes well and discard the stems. Place the grapes in a large stockpot. Add enough water just to cover the grapes and bring to a boil. Making a juice after boiling the grapes can preserve the juice for a longer time.
Now smash them down with a potato masher. And then simmer for a couple of minutes to fully extract the juice. Pour the grapes through a colander or juice strainer or cheesecloth.
How To Can Your Grape Juice For Longer-Lasting Freshness?
Pour your juice into a glass jar and let it sit for 24 to 48 hours, allowing the sediment in the juice to settle to the bottom of the jar.
When the sediment has settled, pour the clear juice into another container and bring it to a boil for canning. In this way, the sediment is discarded and you’ll get a clearer juice. Though I don’t do this as it seems unnecessary to me.

What type of grapes are used to make grape juice?
Specific grapes, mainly the purple-skinned concord grapes, are mostly used in North America for making grape juice because of their distinct flavor and dark purple color.
But I don’t quite like it as I need to add too much sugar to make it sweet enough to consume. Apart from this, my favorite types of grapes to prepare juice with are Reliance and Himrod.
Both of these grape types are so sweet and that’s why no added sugar is required.
How many grapes does it take to make a gallon of juice?
The number of grapes depends on what types of grapes you are using, how juicy they are, how much grape juice you want to prepare, etc.
Around 3 pounds of grapes produce 750ml of grape juice. As 5 bottles make a gallon, it is more like 15 pounds to the gallon.
As it takes around 12 to 15 pounds of grapes to produce a gallon of wine, meaning that you get to begin with a few more grapes because of the losses due to pulp.
